General conditions and information

We advise our costumers ro read our general information and conditions, before the car rental.

The models of the vehicles indicated in the table, serve only as reference, and may be replaced by similar vehicles.

NOTICE: Not all prices shown include INSURANCE CDW, PAI and SUPER CDW. Prices and taxes are subject to chenge without notice. All rates include VAT rate in affect at the time of rental. All prices are in EUROS. Promotions and discounts can not be accumulated. All pricesa may change without notice.

Payment terms/Required documents

The estimated cost of the rental must be paid at the time of picking up the vehicle and the settlement of accounts made at the end of the rental. The customer must carry a legal indentification document, driving license, credit card recognized by the rent a car representative, and can pay in cash, ATM or credit card recognized by the rent a car.

Driver's age: Minimum of 19, with one year of driving experience and holder of credit cards recignized by the rent a car.

Fuel: It is not included in the prices. The cars are delivered with full tank, so they should be at the end of the rental being delivered under the same conditions, otherwise a refueling service cherge will be applied, plus the missing fuel cost.

Supplement of service of delivery/colletion in Calheta/São Roque harbour: Price upon request.

Baby/Seat chair: Charged one single time, price upon request.

Minimum rental period: The minimum period is 24 hours. Extra hour charges available up to a maximum of 2 hours (only available on the low and medium season).

Prices include: Liability insurance, as described, oil and normal car maintenence.

Accidents/Fines: Prices do not include fines, fees or towing service in case of an accident.

Tire damage: Damage to the tire of azores by car vehiles are the responsability of the costumer when not contracted with CPJ insurance.

Insurance: Prices include civil liability insurance up to 50.000€ the costumer is responsible for all damages caused in the rental car. as well as the days of immobilization of the vehicle. None of the insurance policies sold by azores by car covers damage caused to luggage or objects transported by rental cars of the azores by car, nor the disappearence or theft.

Suspension of compensation payment in a crash (CDW insurance): If there is no negligence or willful violation of the terms and conditions mentioned in the rental agreement, the costumer will be liable for damages caused by collision and overturning of the vehicle. The liability of the customer, for the payment of the damages caused in the azores by car vehicle in accident case, may be reduced to the payment of the mandatory deductible (according to the current table in vigor) if the costumer has previously contracted the purchase of the CDW.

Super CDW: Customer purchasing super CDW along with the CDW reduces the maximum mandatory franchise to the minimum mandatory franchise amount.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): There is an additional cost and the following coverages per passenger and driver: permanent disability or death ( 14,963.94 €) and medical expenses (1,496.39 €).
